March 20, 2012 .......A Day in Texas

Today we went to the Alamo.  We saw the shrine to the heroes of the Alamo.  Many people died defending the Alamo and taking a stand for Texas independence.  One of the heroes was Davey Crockett.  Then we went on a boat tour of the River Walk.  Before the River Walk we went to a Subway and had lunch.  We saw alot of  REALLY tall hotels. Right now we're staying at our friends the Dahlingers.  They have two little 4 year old twins.  One is Timothy and the other is Paul.  So far I'm having a Blast!!!! by Gracie

What a day.....we woke up to sunshine and bright skies!!  The weather forecast was for thunder, lightning, and rain, rain and rain.....I just have to praise God for the things that he is doing for us.....

My verse for today is Psalm 147:5.....How great is our Lord!  His power is absolute! His understanding is beyond comprehension!

The Dahlinger family have been the most gracious hosts!!  Monique had breakfast all ready for us this morning and how wonderful it was to have a homecooked meal and a shower!  We all spent the day in San Antonio touring the Alamo,  exploring the surrounding area, walking along the Riverwalk and taking a boat tour of the Riverwalk.  It was a beautiful day, we all wore short sleeves.......we bought some souvenirs and actually got out of the Alamo with only one gun related item for Christian.....that is truly amazing........
The San Antonio Riverwalk
....a tree growing out of the side of a restaurant on the Riverwalk route....

Enjoying the boat ride.....

A quick pic stop on our hunt for the ice cream shop......

Everything is BIG in Texas, even the jewelry.....

Christian poses with his new friend.....

.....hey anyone seen Christian??
Off to bed to enjoy the first real night of sleep that I have had in days......on to Baton Rouge tomorrow....

  4. So fun to see your photos of the Alamo and River Walk! Allyson and I will be in Washington DC for a couple of the days you all are there, that's a pretty funny coincidence. We'll be on a 10 day college tour through 18 states! :)
