April 19, 2012......Lancaster, PA....Amish country

 April 19

Today we drove to Lancaster.  We stopped at Aaron & Jessica’s Buggy Rides at the covered bridge...
EJ, our driver, took us on a relaxed, slow paced 2 hour ride in a larger horse drawn buggy that would fit all 9 of us, Gracie got to sit in the very front with the driver....she was thrilled.

We stopped at a few farms to shop and see the area.  The first farm that we stopped at, the girls rushed out to greet us with free samples of the most delicious homemade pretzels. They were so good that we had to buy some, of course.  We enjoyed seeing all of the things that they had to sell and we shopped......I bought homemade rootbeer that was yummy!!  We saw the countryside and many animals.  It was a very peaceful lifestyle.  The families were very sweet, but only our driver acquiesced to a photo.  The kids were thrilled to see miniature ponies and Mules.  I found some nice handmade baskets to buy....the kids found rocking chairs to rock in....

The best was yet to come, though.  When we got to NJ, Tim was there waiting for us....we all ran to hug him and wouldn’t let go of him.....the kids and I have missed him a lot.....we were all so happy to see him and have him here with us.  Today is, my cousin’s daughter, Annalise’s bday.  So I had bought her a Beehive cake from Amish country for her bday.  We just had to help her eat some of it!
